Are you a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for working with children and young people who have experienced significant trauma and have complex needs? This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a knowledgeable, dynamic mental health practitioner. You will be joining a friendly, supportive, and creative multi-disciplinary team dedicated to providing high-quality crisis care to our young people.
Main duties of the job
Your main duties will involve:
1. Providing comprehensive crisis assessment of mental health specific to the needs of the service area.
2. Managing a small caseload of clients in crisis with complex mental health needs.
3. Communicating with and meeting the needs of families and carers.
4. Leading in clinical matters and policy development relating to clinical practice.
5. Providing clinical leadership and supervision to team members.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Degree/Diploma in occupational therapy or Nursing/Social Work
* Evidence of post qualification study
* Registration with the HPC, NMC or Social Work England
* Training in the use of standardized assessment tools
Knowledge/Experience
* Broad experience of working with young people with a range of mental health problems
* Experience of multidisciplinary working
* Experience of supervising staff and students
* Experience with Looked after and Adopted children
* Experience of multi-agency work
* Experience in applying a range of assessment tools and a comprehensive knowledge of clinical approaches
