About The Role
Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for a passionate Activities Lead to join our award-winning team at Kitnocks House. Kitnocks House is a 63-bed service providing high quality care across 4 specialised units supporting residents with varying complex care as well as providing a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated Overall Good with CQC.

What do you need?
1. 1 year experience in a similar role
2. Full UK Drivers licence
3. A good standard of general education
4. Be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents and their visitors
5. Have a positive attitude to residents and commitment to provide stimulating, quality activities
6. Ability to work alone as well as a team and be able to form positive relationships with colleagues, residents and families
7. Supervisory skills
8. Advanced knowledge of dementia
9. Experience of working with residents who have additional support needs
10. Microsoft / IT skills
What hours will you work?
1. Week A: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri - 09:30 - 16:00
2. Week B: Mon, Tue, Wed, Sat, Sun - 09:30 - 16:00
Total of 30 hours worked per week
What will you be doing?
1. Encourage and support staff members, relatives and friends to participate in the home’s activities.
2. Help taking residents into the community when required, inc. hospital appointments.
3. Lead in planning and running any of the home’s special events such as Summer Garden Party.
4. Manage and plan ongoing weekly activities in conjunction with resident needs and wishes, and encourage residents to take part.
5. Ensure full and accurate records of activities are maintained using the relevant documents, in order to monitor, record and evaluate individual and group participation and success.
6. Help keep abreast with new developments that will help in caring for residents.
7. Ensure one-on-one support is provided to residents who are unable to participate in any form of activity.
8. Be responsible for your own Health & Safety and promote safe working practice in the workplace and for the activities team.
9. In conjunction with the service, develop a positive public profile of the service ensuring good communication, relationships and that staff represent the service in a professional way.
10. Responsible for supervision of activity team and ensuring they remain compliant with training relevant to their role.
11. Responsible for ongoing development of the activities team.
12. Managing the teams’ rotas ensuring sufficient staff are deployed across the home to meet the activity needs of the residents.
13. Identifying equipment and supplies needed to support activities.
14. Oversight of activity care plans ensuring residents' wishes and preferences are clearly identified.

About Us
Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs.
Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly.
We currently have 3 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, & Mytchett with 2 new services set to open in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
