A highly regarded Sixth Form College in Cambridge seeks an experienced and qualified Trainer/Assessor of Building Services to join its dedicated team. This is a permanent, full-time position at our Cambridge campus, commencing in January 2025, or sooner if possible. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of future professionals in the building services sector while working within an inspiring educational environment.
Role Overview: The successful candidate will deliver high-quality instruction and assessment for students enrolled in building services courses, ensuring they achieve their learning objectives. The Trainer/Assessor will work closely with students, providing guidance, mentorship, and hands-on training to prepare them for successful careers in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging, practical, and theoretical training sessions in building services.
* Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their learning journey.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and safety regulations.
* Contribute to curriculum planning and development to meet the evolving needs of the sector.
* Support and motivate students to achieve their academic and practical objectives.
* Work collaboratively with other trainers and staff to uphold the college's standards of excellence.
Requirements:
* A recognized qualification in Building Services or a related field.
* Teaching or assessing qualification (such as TAQA, A1 Assessor Award, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in the building services industry, with hands-on expertise.
* Previous experience in training or assessing, ideally within an educational or vocational setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to supporting student success.
* Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and technical skills relevant to building services.
* A proactive and adaptable approach, with a passion for inspiring and developing young talent.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team within a dynamic educational environment.
Desirable:
* Experience within a Sixth Form or further education college setting.
* Additional certifications or specializations in building services or related technical areas.
