Purchase Ledger Assistant Annual Salary: £28k - £32k Location: Hatfield (Office based) Job Type: Full-time We are seeking a dedicated, experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our client based on the outskirts of Hatfield. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our purchase ledger accounts and ensuring that all financial transactions are handled efficiently and in compliance with company policies. Day-to-day of the role: Ensure every invoice has a valid Purchase Order number and matches the amount on the supplier invoice. Communicate with relevant managers to obtain valid purchase orders. Register and scan invoices into the system. Communicate effectively with suppliers and other departments to resolve any issues. Set up new accounts as required. Reconcile purchase ledger accounts to supplier statements, including manufacturer statements, and request any missing invoices. Resolve unallocated cash issues. Prepare BACS payment runs and handle ad hoc payment requests. Chase staff to ensure invoices are passed for payment, produce regular reports on outstanding items, and resolve queries. Provide cover for other members of the accounting team as needed. Perform additional duties as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Calm temperament and ability to work effectively under pressure. Strong team player with excellent communication skills across all departments. High level of accuracy and efficiency, with the ability to meet targets and deadlines. Proficient in Excel, and other IT skills.
