Outline of Role
The Manager of Operations Support (MOS) is responsible for enabling and empowering a team of Project Analysts. The responsibilities include personal development and management of the team itself, as well as any required support that their team needs in the operation of its duties. The MOS is also directly responsible for overseeing the monthly financial reconciliation of project level Cost, Revenue, and Gross Profit.
An ideal candidate will be innovative and adaptable to an ever-changing environment. They will have good team building and stakeholder management skills, as well as be able to resolve conflicts and have a high standard of accounting knowledge.
Qualifications
Required Education and/or Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Business; preferably in Finance, Management, Economics, or part qualified with Accounting qualification
* Experience in managing or coaching a team
* Relevant prior experience within a Financial Support structure
Requisite Abilities and/or Skills:
* Ability to consistently meet deadlines in an environment where prioritization and reprioritization is often needed
* Ability to manage, lead, and motivate a team of direct reports
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to demonstrate initiative/drive and leadership abilities as they gain knowledge and experience within the position
* Ability to produce varying management and financial reports with a very high level of accuracy
* Must possess strong problem-solving, organization, and multi-tasking skills while demonstrating good judgment when issues are escalated.
* Ability to identify process gaps and create solutions with minimal direction, including process mapping and re-design of cross-functional processes
* Ability to adapt to a constantly changing process environment.
* Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
* Primarily responsible for the technical and professional development of the employees on their team, including providing regular feedback and half-yearly performance evaluations.
* Managing the processes of accurate revenue & cost capture, effective reporting, and appropriate issue resolution of project financials.
* Driving team and inter-departmental process improvements to increase efficiencies
* Escalation point and support liaison for team and internal stakeholders
* Responsible for developing and assisting with financial management reports.
* Approval of high-impact reporting, including those impacting salaries and commission payments
* Point of Contact for PeopleSoft FS issues and troubleshooting.
* Support in delivering relevant company objectives and strategic initiatives
* Building effective stakeholder relationships.
