We are looking for a Civil/Structural Design Engineer to join our STL infrastructure team. STL services on a range of design and build projects within the Civil Engineering Sector to both in-house and external clients. The role is based in our head office in Leavesden, Watford.
What you'll do:
1. To be responsible for your part of the delivery, technical and commercial performance of projects.
2. Hands-on delivery of practical, buildable designs, client liaison, time management, and liaison with other members of the project team.
3. Undertake designs in the common structural materials to Eurocode.
4. Prepare specifications, supporting site and works information, technical reports, and other technical output.
5. Plan and manage delivery of your work to agreed time and cost.
6. Undertake work in compliance with internal quality standards and processes.
7. Undertake work in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.
8. Brief and coordinate the work of others, including technicians.
9. Work collaboratively with customers to understand and develop project objectives and to build excellent customer relationships.
What you'll bring to the role:
1. An accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
2. Progressing towards chartership, either with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
3. Design-focused experience, which may be in either permanent or temporary works design. Experience of both steel and concrete design for above and below ground structures is desirable.
4. Knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
5. Familiarity with Eurocodes and other relevant design standards.
6. Ability to use Engineering analysis/design software (such as SCIA Engineer, Robot, Wallap, Tedds, Scale, etc.).
