Here at RCHT, the Anaesthetic, Critical Care and Theatres (ACCT) education team offer high-quality support for students and new starters with bespoke training sessions, work alongside colleagues in the clinical setting to enhance skills and competence and deliver mandatory training across the care group. The team are also involved in exciting projects and lead on clinical partnership modules to support safe and effective patient care and staff career development.
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic practitioner to the post of Clinical Practice Educator for Critical Care.
The appointed candidate will work with the Lead Educator for the care group and other clinical managers within a friendly, flexible and dedicated team., Support the development of new policies relating to corporate induction, mandatory training and specific clinical tasks.
Support staff in Critical Care to obtain STEPS competencies via clinical supervision and teaching sessions.
Work closely with the Clinical Managers to support the Critical Care Nurse progression pathway.
Support the Nursing Associate role within Critical Care working proactively to ensure their learning and competence needs are met.
Be responsive to the needs of learners and take action to improve their experience.
Work proactively with the learning and development department to ensure that the standards identified from national bodies such as CQC, NHSLA, HESW are maintained and developed to a standard of excellence
Develop new competency frameworks in line with national and local developments in clinical policy and practice.
Work with the Learning and development department to ensure that key performance indicators regarding the provision of education at RCHT are met and developed to a standard of excellence.
Assist in Recruitment activities where required. This may include hosting a recruitment day.
