Packaging Project Coordinator
Reporting to: Packaging Artwork Manager
Location: Hybrid role with 3 days in our Handforth office each week with Wednesday as a mandatory office day
About your role:
Under supervision from the Packaging Artwork Manager, you will ensure on-time and effective delivery of packaging projects for which you are responsible. You will achieve this through taking responsibility for packaging from concept to launch, ensuring that you align with the CPA process to deliver on time and in full.
You will be measured on ensuring that packaging concepts are both fit for purpose and align with business strategy in terms of innovation, quality, and sustainability. Delivery of this is through close working relations with both the internal NPD and product technologists, as well as in-depth knowledge of supplier processes – including design agencies, manufacturers, and printers.
Your knowledge of the competitor set in categories for which you are responsible should be up-to-date, comprehensive, and detailed. You should be able to defend Pets at Home propositions through effective and regular benchmarking results.
About your responsibilities:
* Develop innovative packaging concepts in line with agreed BSM targets.
* Develop packaging specification criteria at the briefing stage for product technologists to monitor with suppliers.
* Ensure accuracy of cutter guides, material type, and finish across categories.
* Provide comprehensive artwork briefs to agencies, ensuring delivery aligns with business requirements.
* Ensure mockups and new concepts are produced for final sign-off and any required product showcases.
* Conduct regular market and competitor analysis and maintain benchmarking portfolio.
* Full ownership of artwork sign-off with internal product teams and external suppliers.
* Attendance at photoshoots as requested to ensure sign-off aligns with expectations.
* Ownership of FTP dates for areas of responsibility.
* Organize and run pre-production meetings with suppliers, agencies, and printers.
* Post-launch review analysis of packaging performance and suitability.
* Ensure packaging development aligns with sustainability and legislative targets.
* Work within the artwork budget set.
* Work within required KPIs for your area.
About You – Knowledge and Experience:
* 1+ years’ experience in packaging development/artwork role.
* Degree or equivalent qualifications in packaging or a technology-related field.
* Experience managing packaging projects across supply chains.
* Knowledge of end-to-end manufacturing from raw materials to packaging and print delivery.
* Experience with spreadsheet trackers and project management tools.
* Ability to work flexibly and at pace.

* Highly organized and able to multi-task.
* Detail-oriented, with the ability to preempt barriers to progress.
