About You We are seeking a Heritage Officer to be part of our exciting team. We are transforming the Grade II listed Canning Town Old Library into an innovative heritage centre which explores Newham’s extraordinary heritage and stories. This is an exciting and varied role, which will provide access to and information on the Heritage Service’s archive and museum collections to the public, ensure the safety and security of collections and prepare and present collections for exhibitions. You will also support the Learning and Engagement Officer with learning, engagement and consultation activity, including volunteer and co-production activities for the Heritage Centre. The post holder will be inventive and enthusiastic about heritage, with strong communications skills, as well as have an adaptable and flexible approach to their work. You will engage with volunteers and researchers working on projects. The ideal post holder will be excited by the prospect of contributing, as part of a wider project team, to a significant project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
