The Public Appointments Team (PAT) is seeking a skilled Resourcing Team Administrator to support their recruitment and business processes. A ‘public appointment’ is the term given when a Scottish minister appoints somebody – a chair or a member - to the board of a public body. Public bodies play a significant role in every aspect of life in Scotland, and appointing the right people to serve on their boards is critical to providing the best possible public services. PAT is the Scottish Government’s central point of expertise on this form of resourcing, which must comply with the code of the Ethical Standards Commissioner. In this pivotal role, you will be part of a busy, friendly team working in a high-profile area. You will lend your administrative talents to PAT’s Public Appointments Managers to maximise the efficiency of their recruitment rounds. You will also strive to provide a supportive experience to candidates, as well as senior stakeholders across the Scottish Government who are involved in the rounds. Responsibilities Responsibilities Working closely with the Public Appointment Managers for appointment rounds, which includes preparing, collating and issuing relevant papers; offering administrative support to selection panels; and preparing and issuing correspondence. Managing timetables and communications channels, including the use of social media. Organising reasonable adjustments for applicants and managing requests for feedback from unsuccessful candidates. Being a point of contact for internal and external enquiries. Liaising with sponsor teams across Scottish Government, Ministerial Private Office, and colleagues in public bodies about appointment activity, including advertising and outreach. Upholding high administrative standards, including accurate record-keeping and maintaining up-to-date statistics Exercising good judgement in handling personal, sensitive information and appointments data. Performing general administrative duties, including filing; acknowledgement and onward processing of mail; compilation of inspection files; and maintaining spreadsheet information.
