Description IC2 - Data Center Technician Summary of Experience Typically has minimum 2 years experience in an IT environment Scope of Position and Business Impact Executes basic troubleshooting along with triaging incoming incidents in support of DC operations. Learns proper techniques in supporting the infrastructure deployed in the cages. Follows existing SOPs and provides feedback as necessary. Activities and Technical Ability Basic T-shooting training. iLOM, iLOM GUI, Snapshot gathering Identifies issues, captures supporting info, escalates to Tech2 /FSE Perform replacements of CRUs Troubleshoot flapping network ports. Understanding of trunk cabling infrastructure Install and dress network cabling Replace AOC, QSFP, MPO, and Cat6 cables Create/escalate Jira SD2 tickets Assist with Cabinet Deployment processes Follows SOPs – Contributes to improvement processes Understanding of Support Tools to maintain Data Center activities Assists with maintaining an accurate parts inventory. Knowledge and ability to use Linux OS, IT Hardware, Troubleshooting and Repair Understand and Troubleshoot Networking Concepts Performs basic level of iLOM troubleshooting Independence, Teamwork, Influence and Achievements Review and work on assigned incidents and service requests.
