Access & Referral Co-ordinator, Band 4 - Specialist Community Learning Disability Service
Two roles: 1 x 37.5 hours, 1 x 22.5 hours
This is an exciting time to join our service as we are currently developing our service and ways of working. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, flexible, hardworking, and motivated to contribute to our developing Business Support service, with a particular focus on referrals.
In return, we’ll offer you a varied job as part of a well-established and supportive team made up of multi-disciplinary professionals such as Nursing, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language, Psychiatry, and Business Support.
Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Specialist Community Learning Disability Service to receive referrals into the service and ensure the team responds appropriately to referrals and queries, including facilitating team referral meetings.

To act as the first point of contact for all referrals to the Specialist Community Learning Disability Service, dealing with all queries in a timely and professional manner.
Person specification
Qualifications
* GCSE Maths and English Grade A-C or equivalent
* Good standard of general education
Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills, including a good command of written English
* Strong organisational skills, working efficiently using own initiative
* Good understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues
* Ability to produce documentation to a consistently high and accurate standard
* Ability to problem solve and identify appropriate responses
* Ability to operate and access patient information systems
* Ability to plan and prioritise a diverse workload and meet deadlines
Experience
* Experience using Microsoft Office packages
* At least 2 years relevant experience in an administrative/secretarial role
* Experience dealing with members of the public/other professionals
* Experience in NHS or similar role
Other
* Flexible and enthusiastic
* Able to work under pressure in a changing environment
* Capable of working unsupervised and as a team member
* Experience of working in a learning disability setting
* A positive approach to people with a learning disability
