Position Purpose:
The Night Shift Manager in a plastic manufacturing extrusion environment oversees all production operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves managing teams, optimizing processes, and meeting production targets while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, manage, and execute daily production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
2. Supervise and lead production teams, ensuring high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
3. Oversee plastic manufacturing processes such as Injection Moulding, Extrusion, and Mixing Plant.
4. Monitor productivity rates and quality standards, and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean manufacturing).
5. Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with engineering or quality assurance teams to resolve them.
6. Maintain equipment efficiency through regular inspections and repairs.
7. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
8. Collaborate with procurement to ensure raw material availability and manage inventory levels.
9. Recommend and implement improvements to reduce downtime.
Key Skills / Knowledge:
1. Excellent communication and team management abilities.
2. Expertise in process optimization and cost reduction strategies.
3. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen).
4. SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies).
5. Analyse production data and prepare performance reports for senior management.
Qualifications:
1. Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic manufacturing (e.g., injection moulding or thermoforming).
3. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems for production planning.
4. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
5. Knowledge of BSI / ISO standards is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Standard working week is 60 hours per week: from 18.00 – 6am, Monday – Friday.
20 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday (pro Rata depending on shift patterns).
