A compassionate, patient, and experienced personal assistant is required for a sixteen-year-old young man with epilepsy, global developmental delay, and sensory issues, living in the St Just and Penzance area.
He is looking for someone who can provide care, companionship, and one-to-one support. The role will focus on helping him develop independence and engage in activities that offer opportunities to try new skills and socialise.
He has a passion for the outdoors, with a particular love for exploring woods, rivers, waterfalls, and building dams.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young person in growing, widening his world, and gaining greater independence while making a positive impact on his life.
The rate of pay starts at £12.50 per hour, with the potential for an increase based on the candidate's skills and experience.
There are seven hours per week available, with flexible scheduling to suit the candidate’s availability.
Some knowledge or experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
A driving licence and access to your own vehicle are also essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family, and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council.
