TOC (Transportation Operation Center) is the central command and control center for 'Transportation Execution' across the Amazon Supply Chain network supporting multiple geographies like NA, India, and EU. It ensures hassle-free, timely pick-up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from FCs to carrier hubs. In case of any exceptions, TOC steps in to resolve issues and keeps all stakeholders informed. Additionally, TOC is responsible for analyzing network trends, automating processes, and proposing improvements to streamline operations.

Purview of a Trans Ops Specialist
A Trans Ops Specialist facilitates communication between stakeholders (Carriers, Hubs, Warehouses) and resolves issues affecting customer experience and business continuity. The role covers two verticals: Inbound and Outbound operations.
* Inbound Operations: Manages Vendor/Carrier/FC relationships, ensuring freight is picked up and delivered on time. Addresses issues during pickup to delivery.
* Outbound Operations: Manages FC/Carrier relationships, ensuring trucks leave the FC to deliver customer orders as promised. Addresses issues during freight transit from FC to customer.
The specialist provides timely resolutions by researching internal tools and making real-time decisions. Candidates should understand logistics, analyze data, notice trends, and drive customer experience without compromising on time. Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to process improvements are essential.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Communicating with external (Carriers, Vendors) and internal (Retail, Finance, Support, FCs) customers.
* Pulling data from databases (Excel, Access, SQL) for reporting and analysis.
* Developing and understanding performance metrics to drive results.
* Understanding business requirements for system enhancements.
* Assessing business impact of trends and making informed decisions.
* Escalating issues systematically and following through on resolutions.
* Working within time constraints to meet critical needs.
* Creating reports and presenting findings effectively.
* Providing 24/7 customer support in a dynamic environment.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering, statistics).
* Experience with Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with SQL.
