The Opportunity
Due to recent project expansions, our client is in the market for an experienced Risk Manager with a proven track record in risk management within a local SZC programme/similar, compliance with SZC's PMO risk management direction, and genuinely help safeguard the programme area from major overruns.
You'll be working with the best talent in major programmes in the UK, with nationally significant/international level work experience. The core controls team has a successful track record of delivery for flagship programmes internationally. The team is committed to the highest standards of professional and personal development - Advanced analytics that go beyond conventional QRA methodologies and risk management tools. Continuous C-suite and Senior Civils Servants engagement and presentations at Project Expos and awards submissions.
Working on SZC you will develop the skills and core nuclear understanding to be successful in the New Nuclear industry. You'll be positioned to benefit from the near and long-term trend for Nuclear power providing the baseload to global energy needs. Your Duties and Responsibilities
As an experienced Risk Manager, your role is to support risk management within a local SZC programme/similar, assist with compliance with SZC's PMO risk management direction, and genuinely help safeguard the programme area from major overruns.
You will show an understanding of scheduling methodologies in project/programme management, including hands-on experience of the leading software packages (Oracle P6/Microsoft Project or similar planning tools). You will be comfortable with quantitative analysis and advanced forecasting i.e. Monte-Carlo methods, probabilistic forecasting, and optimisation.
You Will Have the Following Skills and Experience
1. Good facilitation skills; able to independently facilitate workshops within the programme.
2. Technical skills; able to independently deliver QRAs, spanning Cost QRAs and Schedule QRAs.
3. Good engagement skills; able to independently engage with a range of project and corporate professionals.
4. Demonstrable use of numerical and verbal communication skills within a business environment.
5. Membership of one or more risk or project management organisation e.g. APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or a suitable equivalent.
6. Experience of developing large data models (QSRA/QCRA etc) and their integration into decision-making processes.
7. Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and standards.
The Setting for the Role
Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gases, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided, and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
