I am working with a thriving family run business, based in Blackburn who are now looking to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary and full-time basis. This business has recently expanded their offices due to the acquisition of a new business.
Your new role
As Accounts Assistant, you will report into the Finance Director and be responsible for supporting the team in the daily accounting tasks. Your role will involve processing 50-100+ invoices per week, matching the invoices to the correct PO, generating 50+ sales invoices per week and chasing any outstanding payments with existing customers. You will be assisting the team with month end duties such as cashbook reconciliation, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this role, you will be AAT qualified (or qualified by experience) and have worked in a similar role previously. Experience of working on Sage is essential, with the ability to use Excel to an intermediate level inclusive of vlookups.
What you'll get in return
