Job summary SENIOR PHARMACY ASSISTANT BAND 2 - 3 progression (Medicines Management) Full time - 37.5 HOURS - part time will be considered We are looking for a reliable, committed and enthusiastic Pharmacy Assistant, holding an NVQ2 in pharmacy services or equivalent, to join the team of Senior Assistants working in Medicines Management. Initially based at HRI, you will be expected to work on all sites within the Trust as required. Reporting to the Principal Pharmacy Technician and working closely with the Senior Medicines Management technicians, you will assist in delivering the medicines management strategy throughout the Trust as well as supporting other staff in medicines management issues. Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role Main duties of the job To improve patient access to their own medicines by way of improved efficiency in the transfer and transport of medicines between clinical areas throughout the hospital To provide assistance and support to enable the medicines management teams to deliver a high level of pharmaceutical care to patients To participate in the effective organisation and prioritisation of workflow within the medicines management teams, on a daily basis, ensuring work targets are met. Undertakes medicines reconciliation when trained to do so Assists in audits within medicines management Monitors and reports on returns of drugs from wards, providing information to the pharmacy senior team on a regular basis. Ensures the pharmacy waste is disposed of in line with all current legislation, and the completing of all accompanying paperwork, in an efficient manner. Ensures waste from wards is processed according to procedure Works within Standard Operating Procedures and contributes to the development of procedures.
