Company Description AFJ offers Afro Dance classes in Cardiff as a way of sharing and embracing African culture. We represent dance styles and moves from all over the continent and share this in inclusive environments where everyone feels welcome. Our approach in classes is to merge education with fun, fitness and culture. Our workshops introduce the opportunity to dig deeper into specific Afro Dance styles and the opportunities to combine other styles with Afro Dance. Since its roots, AFJ has grown significantly and is recognised as Wales’s first Afro Dance dedicated organisation, featured on ITV Wales. Marketing and Social Media Intern Position: Marketing and Social Media Intern (Part-Time, Internship with Perks) Duration: 6-12 months, 15 hours per week Location: Cardiff (remote/hybrid flexibility) Responsibilities : As the Marketing and Social Media Intern, you’ll play a critical role in expanding AFJ Cardiff’s online presence and promoting our performances, workshops, and cultural mission. • Plan, design, and execute social media campaigns that engage and grow our audience. • Manage social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn). • Create eye-catching promotional materials (graphics, videos) using Canva or similar tools. • Monitor engagement metrics and optimize campaigns for better performance. • Develop blog posts or newsletters highlighting Afro dance styles and cultural topics. Qualifications: This role is perfect for someone with a strong understanding of digital marketing and a passion for cultural arts. • Required: o Proven experience managing social media accounts (personal projects, businesses, or internships). o Strong design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or equivalent. o Excellent written and verbal communication skills. o A keen interest in storytelling and connecting with diverse audiences. • Preferred: o Knowledge of Afro dance styles or a strong interest in learning. o Experience creating video content for platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels. o Basic knowledge of analytics tools like Google Analytics or Instagram Insights.
