Job Title: Assistant Estimator - Joinery Sub-Contractor

We are currently seeking an Assistant Estimator with a strong focus on estimating and installation management to support our Install Joinery Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and success of the business.
Main Purpose of the Role:
1. Assist all estimating functions under the guidance of the Estimator.
2. Assist with tendering and work-winning activities across business streams.
3. Help maintain client relationships while identifying opportunities for new contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Estimating:
o Assist with allocated tender enquiries, ongoing work, and quotations for the Senior team.
o Raise any project-specific risks and opportunities during the estimating process.
o Follow up on tenders with clients to obtain feedback and refine processes.
2. Client Interaction:
o Attend client meetings, including mid-tender interviews and pre-let discussions.
o Collaborate with Business Development, Design and Senior Pre-Con team.
3. Development:
o Understand and develop business systems, terminology, and estimating best practices.
4. Supply Chain & Commercial Support:
o Assist with supply chain tender opportunities and provide feedback on supplier quotations.
o Assist commercial teams in finalizing sub-contract documents, including drawing lists, scope of works, and divergence documents.
About You:
* At least 2 years experience in estimating and installation management within the joinery or construction sector is ideal. General construction background is acceptable.
* Basic understanding of tendering, client relationship management, and project risk assessment.
* Organizational skills, with the ability to allocate resources effectively and respond to competing demands.
* Skilled communicator, able to build relationships.
* IT proficient.
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.
