An exciting opportunity has arisen for an exceptional leader to continue their nursing leadership journey. Medical Day Case Units at Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton are looking for a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to cover both sites.

The purpose of the role is to take overall responsibility for the clinical care environment and the patient’s journey by providing professional nursing leadership and guidance, expert clinical advice and managerial skills. These skills will ensure the delivery of a clinically effective service in line with local and national development plans, Trust policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong and effective leadership skills, an ability to manage a diverse workforce to maintain the high standards set whilst meeting the key performance indicators within the constraints of policy, guidelines and budget.
You will work with the two unit teams but also with wider medical and nursing teams within UHDB including but not limited to Gastroenterology, Haematology, Respiratory and Endocrinology teams to provide a day case service to patients to enable them to manage their long term conditions mainly within an outpatient setting and without increased inpatient hospital stays.
