Are you a Qualified paediatric nurse interested in gaining experience in a Community Children's nursing Band 6 Role?
An exciting opportunity for a permanent post in the Community Children's Nursing Service, based at Queen Mary's Hospital, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Children's Nurse, who is passionate about providing high-quality care to children and young people in the community setting. Ideally, you will have 2 years of post-graduate general paediatric experience. Car owner and driver are essential.
Epsom and St Helier children’s services have been rated by the Care Quality Commission as ‘Good’ in all five main domains: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led, with an overall rating of ‘Good’. Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children is based at the St Helier site, with children seen in the dedicated Paediatric A&E, outpatient clinics, ward, and assessment unit.

Main duties of the job
Supporting the transition of children and young people from hospital to home, providing specialist knowledge, managing a clinical caseload, assessing, care planning, and evaluating nursing care in partnership with patients and families, working with multidisciplinary teams, safeguarding, documentation as per NMC standards, and clinical responsibilities including medicines management, blood sampling, medication administration (IV, IM, S/C, CVADs), wound management, and caring for children with complex health needs. Ability to work autonomously in patients' homes and collaboratively with families and teams is essential.
