Job Opportunity: Development Engineer – Engineering Innovation

Our client, an industry-leading manufacturer of commercial interconnection solutions, is searching for a skilled Development Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and delivering advanced engineering solutions that meet customer requirements. You’ll contribute to ensuring high performance in product development, supporting customer satisfaction and enhancing market share through competitive lead times and cost-effective product solutions.
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday; 8 am to 4.30 pm and Friday; 8 am to 1.30 pm
Key Responsibilities:
* Product Development: Assist the Sales team in exploring new engineering opportunities, ensuring timely delivery of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, and supporting the New Product Strategy.
* Project Management: Lead NPI gate stages from concept through to manufacturing, manage NPI/SPI tracker, and ensure timely delivery of engineering revenue.
* Customer Support: Lead technical discussions with customers, both internally and externally, to support product development and technical alignment.
* Documentation and Compliance: Create marketing literature, job sheets, manufacturing specifications, and ensure all processes meet AS9100 compliance standards.
* Quality Control: Oversee configuration control for drawings and manufacturing documentation, manage ERP records, and support product quality by reviewing and implementing customer drawing change requests.
* Health & Safety: Act responsibly for health, safety, and environmental policies and ensure all site procedures are adhered to, upholding a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors.

The successful candidate will possess a mix of technical and project management expertise and excel at customer-focused innovation. You’ll demonstrate adaptability to meet changing project needs, a strong attention to customer satisfaction, and collaborative skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field (preferred).
* Experience: Background in new product development or project management within a manufacturing or technology-driven setting; experience in small-scale manufacturing operations is advantageous.
* Technical Knowledge: Proficient in CAD modeling, project management methodologies, and comfortable with technical drawings for manufacturing.
* Skills and Competencies: Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to high-quality standards in engineering and customer interactions.
