We are seeking a motivated and conscientious Apprentice who is interested in working in Financial Services and wishes to pursue a career in Risk Management.
The successful applicant will become an integral part of the Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Framework & Reporting team. The team is responsible for a range of enterprise-wide risk management processes including: the maintenance of the Risk Management Framework; internal / external risk reporting; and overseeing the Group policy governance framework in line with the expectations of customers, stakeholders and regulators.
As a Risk Apprentice you will support both teams with the following key duties:
1. Supporting NFR Framework & Reporting processes as required.
2. Support the development, production and distribution of internal / external risk reporting.
3. Support the maintenance and updates of relevant risk policies, frameworks and standards documentation for use across the business.
4. Provide secretariat support to relevant governance committees.
5. Maintenance and administrative support of the company wide risk reporting system including system updates and changes
6. Conduct regular ‘health checks’ on risk system data to ensure minimum standards are met and advise where this is not the case
7. Working flexibly and building constructive working relationships with teams across NFR Framework & Reporting and M&G plc
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
8. Good and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
9. High level of accuracy and good attention to detail
10. Strong analytical skills in order toidentify key themes and suggest solutions
11. Structured approach to work and very well organised
12. Ability to quickly learn and assimilate key processes and procedures
13. Moderate understanding of the MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
14. A proactive team player who is confident about working with others but also independently and can promptly escalate any issue and work remotely where required
Qualification Required:
As a minimum, candidate will have 5 National 5s or 2 Highers with grades in Maths and English grades (A-C).
Future Prospects:
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities for career progression within our Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Framework & Reporting team or other relevant departments based on performance, business needs, and available opportunities. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.
Training Provided:
As a Framework & Reporting Risk Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the Business Administration SCQF Level 6 Apprenticeship. The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses
This is a fixed term contract for 15 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to the Apprentice performance, headcount, and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.
Salary : £22,000
