We are looking for a creative Technical Author with the ability to create simple to understand schematics from complex systems, while demonstrating excellent attention to detail in day-to-day tasks. The Technical Author will work closely with a group of developers on various projects to understand data flows, system integrations, and project structure. The successful candidate will showcase excellent communication and interpersonal skills by documenting solutions and creating templates and visualizations for cross-functional teams.
Job Title: Technical Author
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Liverpool City Centre, Hybrid working available
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Working closely with developers on various projects to understand data flows, system integrations, and project structure.
2. Specifying the fundamental components of the solution.
3. Documenting to a standard Software Architecture Template, including creating visualizations.
4. Detailing business rationale and how the solution addresses the need.
5. Clearly describing key features, functions, and limitations.
6. Documenting key design features and critical processes to agreed standards.
What We Are Looking For:
1. Experience using Visio or other tools to prepare flowcharts and data flow system schematics.
2. Experience with document versioning.
3. Ability to work within a code environment to document key aspects of design or functionality.
4. Ability to collaborate with system architects and leads to make pragmatic decisions on system representation.
5. Understanding of requirements and the ability to conceive good application solutions.
6. Experience with GIT, GitLab, GitHub, etc.
7. Knowledge of document versioning techniques/tools.
8. Experience with requirement gathering, analysis, and specification.
9. Understanding of backend to frontend development.
10. Experience of build processes and technologies, including CI/CD.
11. Understanding of application architecture.
12. Knowledge of the roles of different programming languages.
13. Familiarity with Markdown, Markdoc, Asciidoc, .Mdx, Sphinx (docs as code).
