Are you an experienced MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) Quantity Surveyor? Then perhaps you can leave your mark on HMP Glasgow, one of Scotland's largest construction projects, conveniently located circa 10 miles North East of the Glasgow city. We have an excellent opportunity for a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our HMP Glasgow team.
This could be your opportunity to get involved in delivering a modern new-build custodial facility, delivering a secure, energy efficient and high specification prison for 200 inmates and staff.
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Contract: Permanent, full time
What will you be responsible for?
* Advising on legal and contractual matters on orders and change
* Valuation of project and subcontract progress.
* Subcontractor administration including agreeing final accounts.
* Production of notices, such as commencement and payment notices.
* Undertaking of monthly cost report, commercial plan internally and external client reports as required.
* Production of records, such as progress reports.
* Undertaking project cashflows and turnover forecasts.
* Undertaking of risk and opportunity reporting and management.
* Producing margin improvement plans and driving margin into the project.
* Drive commercial thinking and support team members in maximising commercial understanding and opportunities.
* Undertaking approvals of material purchases, checking all commercial risks and opportunities have been considered.
* All commercial tasks and reports updated monthly.
The role of Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you can demonstrate:
* Qualification, at degree level or HND/HNC (or similar) in Quantity Surveying.
* Experience working on high value MEP packages either within the main contracting environment or specialist M&E contracting.
* Clear understanding of all main forms of contract JCT, NEC etc.
* Technical understanding of MEPH services, components that make up individual systems and how packages are broken out and the interfaces associated with this.
* Full UK Driving License.
