Job summary
We have a fantastic Fixed Term Contract/Secondment opportunity for a part time Team Administration Support, within the busy and dynamic Derby City Older Adults Community Mental Health Team.
The successful applicant will support our administration function, as well as a team of clinicians and ensure the general, smooth running of our team admin function.
Our team provides assessment, treatment and care for patients in the older adult population who experience organic and/or functional illnesses, as well as support to their carers. None of this can be done effectively without the integral administration team.
It is Trust policy that for posts that are for a time limited period, applicants who are currently employed by an NHS organisation will only be appointed on a secondment basis and should have approval from their line manager this is possible before applying. Applicants who are not employed by an NHS organisation, will receive a fixed term contract.
As an employer and sponsor licence holder, to be able to provide sponsorship to overseas nationals via the Skilled Worker route we must ensure that we adhere to the sponsorship requirements set by UK Visa's and Immigration. After carefully reviewing this role, we do not believe that this position meets the requirements for sponsorship.
Main duties of the job
The role of Team Administration Support is challenging and varied, providing exciting opportunity to grow and develop, whilst supporting the day to day running of the Community Mental Health Team.
This includes answering telephone calls, which could be from patients, staff, social care, care homes, or community organisations, amongst others.
Admin Support then triages these calls to be passed on to the appropriate person, as well as supporting the caller, who may be distressed.
The Admin Support role involves using Patient Record software, inputting referrals, uploading paperwork, discharging patients and generally supporting the clinicians.
Working in a busy team means there is a high load of referrals and phone calls.
Admin Support staff also attend multi-disciplinary meetings, where they support the team with recording outcomes and working with the Patient Record to ensure the tasks are sent and waiting lists are amended to reflect the discussion.
Our team often sees patients in their own homes, to support accessibility, and for that reason, we do not have our own reception area. The front-facing aspect of the role is predominantly through answering the phone.
However, there may be occasions when our Administration Team supports our Working Age Adult counterparts in the building reception.
The Admin Support staff are key players within the wider team, and the role is essential to supporting service users.
