Job summary We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking Physiotherapist to join the Coventry Sleep and Ventilation Service. We welcome applicants with direct experience of long term NIV and respiratory clinical skills. There will be opportunities for service development, research and clinical audit. The Department of Respiratory and Sleep Sciences is a UKAS accredited Physiology Department offering a comprehensive respiratory and sleep diagnostic and therapeutic service. Main duties of the job The post involves leading a multidisciplinary team (MDT) which includes Clinical Scientists, Clinical Physiologists, Nurses and Physiotherapists. You will be required to assess, initiate and monitor patients on long term NIV across a range of conditions including neuromuscular disease, COPD, obesity, spinal cord injury and chest wall deformity. There is an opportunity to become an integral part of the long term NIV MDT who manage a large and varied caseload of approximately 400 patients including those with complex neuromuscular disease and airway clearance needs. You will have the opportunity to engage in partnership working across organisational boundaries including consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, clinical scientists, support workers and other specialist services such as the home oxygen service, neurological services and local hospices.
