Project Manager (Ports) - Permanent/2 year FTC - Kent, UK - £ Excellent package
One of the UK's leading ports is recruiting for a Project Manager to join the team in Kent.
Reporting to the Head of Project Management, the Company is looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage a multi-million-pound project, along with overseeing other smaller projects.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of several projects within scope, time, and budget, as well as maintaining and monitoring a comprehensive project plan and outlining key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies for each work package.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including work package leads, senior management, contractors, and regulatory bodies, while managing stakeholder expectations and facilitating decision-making to ensure project success.
* Maintain and monitor a comprehensive project plan, outlining key milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and timelines for each work package.
* Ensure effective communication and reporting on project status, risks, and issues to the Head of Project Management and other stakeholders.
* Identify, assess, and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies that could impact project delivery, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
* Monitor project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliverables.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and recommending enhancements to the project.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, proven experience in project management (particularly in marine, port, or construction projects), and experience with project management methodologies and tools, such as PRINCE2 or APM.
You will have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, pressurized operational environment, along with excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
You will also have a strong understanding of marine operations, construction, relocation/business change projects, navigation systems, and stakeholder management.
