SEN Teaching Assistant Stockport Position: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Stockport Type of Work: Full-time & Part-time available Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Long-term Temporary Pay: GBP95 per day Hours: 8:30 am 3:30 pm About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Stockport. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping children with additional needs reach their full potential. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide tailored support, ensuring that children with Autism, ADHD, Speech & Language difficulties, or other additional needs can fully engage with their learning in a positive and supportive environment. Responsibilities: Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions for children with SEN. Assisting with the development of personalised learning plans tailored to individual needs. Encouraging and supporting childrens social, emotional, and academic progress. Implementing strategies to help children with communication and sensory needs. Supporting children with personal care and emotional regulation where necessary. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the best support is provided. Creating a safe, inclusive, and structured environment where children feel comfortable and supported. Using creative and engaging techniques to encourage participation in lessons. What Were Looking For: We are seeking a compassionate and motivated candidate who has: Experience working with children with SEN, Autism, ADHD, or other learning difficulties (in a school or care setting). A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting children. The ability to use creative strategies to help children engage in learning. Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals. A commitment to creating a positive learning environment for children with additional needs. Eligibility Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must: Have the Right to Work in the UK. Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the online update service (or be willing to apply for one). Provide two professional references related to childcare or education Have up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable, but training can be provided).
