An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Assistant to join the West Hub at the University of Cambridge. Working as part of the West Hub's Operational team, you will be part of a multi-department team that delivers exceptional customer experience and building management to the customers of the West Hub.
The West Hub opened in April 2022, delivering a space for socialising, meetings, events, and shared workspace for the west Cambridge campus. The West Hub offers a range of catering outlets, retail, a library service, and multi-use spaces that host both teaching, meetings, and external event hires. The West Hub's Operational team sits within the University's Estates Division and reports to a management committee that is responsible for its strategic direction.
Working alongside other Operations Assistants, Operations Supervisor, and AV & IT Technician, the Operations Assistant will be responsible for undertaking daily operations such as building management, health and safety compliance, managing cleaning contractors, and supporting the delivery of both in-house and commercial events.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
* Has previous experience from a similar role in hospitality, leisure, tourism, or education.
* Is a strong team player with the ability to work towards shared goals and procedures.
* Is a good listener and communicator with a practical 'can do' approach focused on finding solutions.
* Has the ability to think on their feet and use their initiative.
* You will hold or be willing to work towards training in First Aid, SIA, Fire Warden, and COSHH.
