A welcoming primary school in central Preston is seeking a patient and proactive 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant to work with a highly autistic pupil in Year 5. About the Role: You will provide 1:1 support to a pupil with autism, working closely with the class teacher and other professionals. You will implement individualised support plans designed to meet the pupil's specific needs, focusing on both learning and social integration. You will utilize your knowledge of positive strategies and techniques for supporting autistic pupils to create a positive and engaging learning environment both within and outside the classroom. You will foster a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil, promoting their emotional well-being and academic success. You will demonstrate patience, calmness, and firmness in setting expectations. You will be a strong communicator, collaborating closely with the class teacher, other staff, and parents to ensure the pupil's needs are being met.
