About the Role: The job holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the maintenance program to maximise production output by ensuring print presses and equipment are fit for purpose and serviceable. The ideal candidate will provide mechanical and electrical service to the Production Department in terms of maintaining mechanical machines and site services to achieve minimal downtime as well as reduced engineering costs. Responsibilities: Organise and manage a preventative maintenance programme to ensure all equipment is serviceable and in good working order. Respond to press/machine breakdowns and other electrical/mechanical failures, ensuring minimum downtime. Manage non-urgent work requested by operators and other managers in a timely fashion. Establish and maintain a computerised maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment. Plan, organise and oversee project work such as press/machinery installation/decommissioning etc. Oversee site services such as the building’s electrical and plumbing services. Monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary. Maintain and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department. Review the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement. Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures. Monitors, reviews and provides timely and accurate reporting on engineering status (including technical and safety case) and progress against schedules, evaluates deviations, develops recovery plans and initiates / coordinates corrective action when required. Qualifications & Experience HNC in electrical or electronic engineering and training in 17th Edition IEE wiring regulations, or equivalent. Multi-skilled engineer with print/packaging experience. Experience of PLC’s (programming and fault-finding), process controls and AC / DC and Servo drives. Working knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and legislation Confident decision-maker, an effective communicator, a motivated self-starter and a well organised individual. Forklift truck license Mobile Elevated Work Platform license
