Location: Various across Hampshire and IOW
Salary: Volunteer - Travel Expenses will be paid on commencing the role
Hours: Max. 15 hours per week

Then this volunteer role is for you!
The successful candidate will respond to requests from the Police to attend and dispatch injured animals at the roadside.
Successful applicants will have their Firearms Certificate endorsed with a clear condition authorising their use for the humane dispatch of animals as required by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.
Successful applicants must hold personal vehicle insurance with business use when engaged in Humane Animal Dispatch.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
* Assist the Police with the humane dispatch of injured animals, prepared to respond to call-outs day or night.
* Work collaboratively with emergency services to ensure a safe working environment for all persons present at the scene of an incident.
* Maintain safe working practices when in possession of Firearms and ammunition, especially en-route and during a deployment.
* Represent Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary in a professional manner, providing regular and effective service.
Essential Qualifications:
* Must hold a shotgun certificate and a firearms certificate with an open condition.
* Holder of a DMQ HAD Award or equivalent HAD Qualification, recognised by a UK Police Force.
* Must hold a full UK driving licence and use an appropriate personal vehicle suitable to respond to call out to humane animal dispatch.
* Must have a valid membership of BDS/BASC for insurance purposes.
