Key Responsibilities:
* Planning and Teaching:
o Develop and deliver imaginative and stimulating lessons that align with the EYFS framework, promoting learning through play and hands-on experiences.
o Use a variety of teaching methods to meet the individual needs of children, fostering their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
o Create an inviting, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
* Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
o Regularly observe and assess children's progress, using formative and summative assessment strategies to inform planning.
o Maintain accurate records and produce individual learning plans to support each child’s growth.
o Complete Learning Journals and other required documentation, celebrating achievements and identifying next steps.
* Pastoral Care and Well-Being:
o Build warm and supportive relationships with children, promoting positive behaviour and social skills.
o Ensure that the physical and emotional well-being of every child is a top priority.
o Promote British Values and foster a respectful, caring community within the classroom.
* Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with teaching assistants and other EYFS staff to ensure consistency and continuity of care and education.
o Engage with parents and carers through regular communication, meetings, and progress reports.
o Contribute to the wider school community through participation in events, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Qualifications and Experience:
o Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a focus on Early Years Education.
o Proven experience teaching in Nursery and/or Reception settings.
o A thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
* Skills and Attributes:
o Passionate about early years education, with a creative and nurturing approach to teaching.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
o Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan, assess, and manage time effectively.
o Adaptability and resilience to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
o Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
