We are looking for a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. This role is a hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation responder. Key Job Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that the preventive maintenance of site-critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to the highest standards, in accordance with AWS procedures. You will set and maintain the highest standards for safety and actively promote a world-class safety culture in all aspects of operational procedure.
This position requires frequent site interventions, critical switching activities, along with troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure issues. The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a ‘hands-on’ capacity on Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure such as diesel generators, MV/LV switchgear, UPS’s, PDU’s, Pumps, AHU’s, fire detection systems, and building automation systems.
On a daily basis, you will work semi-autonomously in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in the data center, ensuring all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work. You will draft, update & maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to the Operations department, enabling the organization to deliver 100% uptime on all customer supporting infrastructure while collaborating effectively with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS.
Basic Qualifications
1. Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory
2. High school or equivalent diploma
3. CFGS / FPII Electromechanical maintenance, power plants, electrical installations, renewable energies
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in data center engineering
2. Knowledge of data center capacity planning and reporting
3. Ability to draft accurate support procedures, compile system documentation, and issue tracking entries while taking full ownership of technical issues
