A leading name in defence and aerospace innovation is looking for an experienced Air Sector Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team. As an Systems Engineering Manager, you will be at the heart of major programmes that push the boundaries of what's possible in aerospace. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, guiding the delivery of complex systems and ensuring engineering excellence from concept through to in-service support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead engineering delivery across high-profile, technically challenging aerospace programmes.
* Manage and develop teams of engineers working across the entire lifecycle, from early-stage design to operational deployment.
* Implement robust engineering governance, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
* Work collaboratively across departments including project management and HR to build technical capability and drive innovation.
* Shape and execute engineering strategies that improve performance and foster technical excellence.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Essential:
* Proven leadership experience within complex engineering environments.
* Strong background in systems engineering, including full lifecycle development.
* Excellent communication and people management capabilities.
Desirable:
* Degree in a STEM discipline and/or Chartered Engineer status.
* Background in regulated industries, applying structured engineering methodologies and standards.
* Understanding of Model-Based Engineering practices and associated toolsets.
