Midland Metropolitan University Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that brings the opportunity to revolutionise the way logistics operates within the Trust, operating as 'One Logistics Team' encompassing all current disparate areas with logistics responsibilities. Additionally, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) will be used to move goods throughout the Trust with SWBH being one of first in the NHS to introduce this technology. Acting as a senior manager at our brand new site, Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, the Deputy Logistics Operations Manager is a new role that will support the Operations Manager and help to ensure a safe and efficient Logistics operation for the Trust. The role will support all areas of the logistics & warehouse functions by taking ownership of goods within the supply chain once procured as well as responsibility for the introduction of the new Logistics service., The Deputy Logistics Operations Manager will be responsible for leading- a dedicated logistics team at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital. The postholder will support the Logistics Operations Manager in managing the delivery, performance and compliance of the full scope of logistical services (Transportation, Receipt and Distribution, Waste Management, Linen Services, Non-patient Portering, Sterile Services and Mail distribution). The postholder will deputise for the Logistics Operations Manager as required, and will workwith the Head of Logistics and heads of other services to input into the strategic plan for Logistics delivery. The Deputy Logistics Operations Manager will adopt a continuous improvement approach to ensure the potential of the service is fully realised. Other duties will include: Developing key performance indicators that measure service delivery, efficiency and compliance. Determining performance targets and delivering against these. Line managing allocated team leads and service managers in the Logistics Service. Ensuring the effective operation of the Trust's warehouse management solutions.
