We are seeking a motivated and experienced manager who can bring enthusiasm and energy to the role of Assistant Service Manager within the Urology Department.
The Assistant Service Manager will work closely with the Service Manager and General Manager to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services within the department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing and leading teams in a complex and dynamic environment, with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to work independently.
You will take an operational lead for all administrative functions, with additional responsibilities, under the direction of the Service Manager.
The Assistant Service Manager will be responsible for the operational delivery of a range of functions within Urology. The key tasks are;
• Managepersonalworkloadtomeetbothcorporateandpersonaldeadlines.
• Prioritiseworkload in awaythatenables thedeliveryof both importantandurgent tasks.
• Manage staffanddelegateappropriate tasks,ensuringcompetenceofthestafftowhomworkisdelegated.
• Organise staffbriefingsandmeetingsasappropriate.
• Supporttheseniormanagementteaminundertakingcapacityanddemand exercises inordertobest plananddeliver services.
• Facilitatecollaborativeworkingbetweenallstakeholdersinsideandoutsideof the Directorate-thiswill includeboth clinicalandnon-clinical staff.
• Participate inthedevelopmentof a sharedvisionforthe Divisionandpromotea culturewhereallstaff understandandare involved inworkingtogether towards the achievementoftheservice andTrustobjectives
• Identifychanges thatmaybe requiredinanareatodeliver the service andactively implement thesechangeswith the supportof theServiceManager.
• Seektoworkwith a“problemsolvingapproach” in order to identifysolutionsto challenges intheservice.
• ProduceMonitor andDeliver KeyPerformance Indicators(KPI’s)andattendmeetingsas required.
• Analyseoutcomemeasures andactivitydatarelatingto service performancein relationto18weekspathways.
