Information Assurance Security Engineer, Farnborough

The Role:
Leidos has an exciting opportunity for an Information Assurance Security Engineer to join our expanding Engineering Team. You will work on a key programme for a high-profile national security client.
What will I be doing?
The successful candidate will provide expertise in Security and Assurance design within the Information Security Management (ISM) function, helping to define security strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure stakeholder confidence in managing risks related to data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
* Ensure system designs and infrastructure changes maintain adequate information security levels.
* Develop IA policies and procedures, conduct security audits, and advise on cryptographic security and certificate management.
* Coordinate security activities within the account, maintaining policies, standards, and ISMS documentation in compliance with legislative requirements.
* Support RMADS maintenance and ensure delivery of services meeting SLAs.
* Develop and operate the ISMS for the infrastructure and services.
* Analyze system security weaknesses and communicate issues effectively.
* Collaborate with teams and third-party providers to support security requirements.
* Conduct security risk assessments and maintain the risk register.
* Manage vulnerability processes, document security activities, and participate in security meetings and audits.
You will work closely with the Security lead, ISM team, client, and other suppliers, acting as the primary contact for security assurance processes.
What does Leidos need from me?
* Experience in the IT systems engineering lifecycle and associated processes.
* Understanding of different development methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.) and security accreditation processes.
* Knowledge of confidentiality, integrity, and availability principles, with practical risk management experience.
* Experience with security documentation and continuous assurance frameworks like NIST, ISO.
* Cyber incident response experience.
Required Technical Expertise:
* Knowledge of network security technologies, protective monitoring systems, authentication, encryption, and penetration testing.
Communication and Soft Skills:
* Excellent communication skills, team-oriented, capable of producing clear reports, and aware of project disciplines.
Clearance Requirements:
This role requires SC clearance, which we can facilitate.
