As an Assistant Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the Rexel network and IT security platforms.
Your responsibilities will include managing service incidents, collaborating with third-party service providers, and utilising network monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.

Key Responsibilities:
* Incident Management: You will manage the network team’s business-as-usual incidents, liaising with other IT teams and third-party service providers to ensure timely actions and updates. Your ability to communicate effectively with users will be essential in advising them on the necessary steps to resolve incidents.
* Network Monitoring: Utilising network monitoring and alerting tools, you will proactively monitor our network infrastructure, raising incidents and working on solutions to maintain optimal performance.
* Device Management: You will deploy, maintain, and change Cisco LAN switches and Meraki network devices according to team procedures. This includes onsite local or remote access as required.
* Documentation: Keeping our network documentation up to date is vital. You will be responsible for managing additions, deletions, and changes to ensure accurate records.
* Health Checks: Performing daily health and maintenance checks on the network infrastructure will be part of your routine, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
* Project Assistance: You will assist in network team projects, ensuring tasks are completed within the provided timelines to guarantee successful project delivery.
About you:
To thrive in this role, you should have some experience supporting networks, including wireless technologies. Experience in an enterprise IT support environment would be an advantage, along with familiarity with Cisco hardware, particularly switch configuration using IOS. You will enjoy providing excellent customer service across both internal and external customers and be comfortable working with third-party telecom providers. A valid driving license is required, as you may need to travel to remote sites to support network operations.
