The Technical Authority for Marine Tooling will serve as the primary technical expert and leader within the organization, responsible for overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of marine tooling systems. This role requires a deep understanding of marine engineering principles, advanced tooling technologies, and project management. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of technical excellence and innovation, driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, testing, and implementation of marine tooling and equipment. Develop and maintain technical standards, guidelines, and best practices for marine tooling. Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for new and existing marine tooling projects. Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering specifications, drawings, and documentation. Ensure all marine tooling projects comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive project success. Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and industry partners. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in marine tooling. Provide technical support and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports to senior management and clients. Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master's Degree preferred). Strong understanding of marine tooling technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes. Proven track record of successfully leading complex engineering projects from concept to completion. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant engineering tools. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations. Project management certification is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Marine Engineering or tooling design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or technical authority role. Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be a UK National with minimum SC Clearance will be required.
