Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Administrative Assistant on behalf of Luton Borough Council.
Main purpose of position:
Under the direction of the Legal Services Improvement Manager, to personally provide efficient legal, administrative and clerical support to the Head of Legal Services, Principal Solicitors and fee earners, in order to facilitate the effective delivery of the services provided by Legal Services. Undertake a range of copy typing / word processing for the Department at all times ensuring work is accurate and delivered to specified deadlines.
You will be responsible to:
Under the overall supervision of the Legal Services Improvement Manager to carry out a wide range of administrative functions to meet agreed timescales and standards.
Undertake financial procedures including the processing of invoices for payment ensuring all invoices and counsel fees are paid within a timely manner and coded correctly.
Investigate unpaid / duplicate invoices in line with the Council's defined procedures, raise purchase orders on AFP, raise invoices as and when required, pay in cheques to relevant department's budget and complete cheque requisitions.
Contribute to the development, testing of subsequent maintenance of Legal Services administrative systems, ensuring that at all times these are kept up to date and hold relevant accurate information - systems could be Management Information systems, spreadsheets, other databases, manual record systems et...
