We are looking for a motivated and skilled Sub Agent to join our Infrastructure - Roads - Lower Thames Crossing team.
The Lower Thames Crossing is a landmark infrastructure project designed to provide a vital alternative crossing for the River Thames. With the Dartford Crossing facing significant overcapacity delays during peak times, this project aims to alleviate congestion on the existing Thames crossing and wider highways network. The completed works will consist of three main contracts: North Roads, Tunnels, and Kent Roads. This project will drive economic growth across Britain by improving connectivity.
As part of the Skanska team, you'll be working on the Kent Roads contract, which includes:
* Upgraded Sections: Enhancing sections of the A2/M2 west of the new LTC junction.
* Highway Construction: Building 3.5km of highway east of the LTC junction, including Junction 1 of the M2.
* Utility Diversions: Managing complex diversions of HV/LV, Gas, Water & Comms utilities.
* Bridge & Retaining Walls: Constructing multiple bridge and retaining wall structures.
* Demolition & Reconstruction: Overseeing bridge demolition and reconstruction.
* New Roads: Developing new side and access roads.
* Earthworks & Compounds: Conducting major earthworks and constructing site compounds.
What you'll do:
* Responsibility for the on site engineering of the works. This will initially include GI, Utilities, Ecology and Archaeology prior to the main construction works.
* Prepare for the delivery of these works, manage resources and provide supervision, advice and guidance to the members of the site supervision teams and Sub-Contractors.
* Ensure the progress of the works is in accordance with the contract, programme, budget and design requirements.
* Implement and assure compliance with all relevant LTC and statutory requirements with regards to Health, Safety, Environment and Public relations within their scope of work.
* Manage QA within section of works, including compilation of handover packs and gaining client approval.
* Work with the subcontractor to ensure the timely preparation of Risk Assessment Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, Permits, Consents etc for the works and that these are implemented.
* Day to day work site coordination and planning to ensure the works are carried out safely and efficiently.
* Ensure that the Health Safety and Environmental Policies and Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce and implemented.
* Ensure all Permits (Dig, Hot Works etc) and other safety systems are implemented.
* Ensure all quality checks are carried out in accordance with the ITP’s and properly recorded.
* Manage non-conformance reporting and manage the nonconformances on site until complete.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering.
* Relevant CSCS Card & Full drivers licence.
* Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Control Systems, Auto CAD).
* Capable of working independently and proactively to progress works but also skilled at working collaboratively with other integrated team members and external stakeholders for the overall benefit of the project.
