SEN Learning Mentor – Plymouth Location : Plymouth Salary : £80-£90 per day Start Date : Immediate GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Mentor to support students with special educational needs in a welcoming school in Plymouth. About the Role As an SEN Learning Mentor, you will work closely with students requiring additional support due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, or learning difficulties. Your role will involve mentoring, delivering tailored interventions, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. Working Hours : 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring for students with SEN needs. Support students in managing emotions, building self-confidence, and improving engagement in learning. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement personalised learning plans. Use positive behaviour management techniques to encourage a productive learning environment. Assist in classroom activities, helping students to access the curriculum effectively. Requirements A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory. Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with SEMH or ASD, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with students. Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet individual needs.
