As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. We are seeking a diligent and experienced Application Owner to oversee the maintenance and operation of our software applications and infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, system administration, and regulatory compliance. The Application Owner will play a critical role in ensuring adherence to control procedures, obtaining regulatory approvals, maintaining application hygiene, and upholding financial discipline. Job responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the maintenance and operation of software applications and infrastructure systems. Manage and prioritize the backlog of software and infrastructure tasks, including bug fixes, enhancements, and updates, in collaboration with stakeholders and development teams. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution of incidents, FARM breaks, AOCOMMS, including troubleshooting technical issues and implementing preventive measures. Implement controls and safeguards to protect sensitive data, ensure data privacy, and mitigate cybersecurity risks. Maintain application hygiene by managing dependencies, and technical debt, and conducting regular code reviews and quality assessments. Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems Be results-oriented with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Possess strong communication, interpersonal skills, and leadership potential Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect Have a proven ability to operate in a process-oriented environment, adhere to risk/control, procedure and process expectations, while appropriately delivering what’s best for the customer. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts with applied experience with Java 8 or above, Spring Framework (Security, Boot, REST). Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Practical experience in problem solving, project management, application development, testing, and operational stability. Proficient in coding in one or more languages Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience with On-Prem to Cloud Migrations Experience with SQL, Hadoop, AWS
