Critical Facilities Engineer
Job Summary

In the Engineering team at Equinix, we keep the lights on! We are responsible for maintaining the electrical and mechanical infrastructure across the various sites. This is including and not limited to stand by power generators, AC units, chilled water systems. This is a 24/7 position, therefore in this role you will be working shift work (including nights).
Responsibilities
1. In this critical role you will be responsible for the facility infrastructure maintenance
2. You will perform the site inspections and monitor the building and IBX (data centre) alarms
3. You will ensure preventative maintenance on site infrastructure is run (e.g. maintenance of primary infrastructures), or handled by vendors with your oversight
4. You maintain repairs and run corrective maintenance on equipment
5. In the role you are also responsible for preparing and carrying out planned maintenance
6. Completion of site logs and data gathering for permits, such as MOPs and scripts is a key part of this position
7. You will assist more senior staff with responding to all on-site incidents and act as directed
8. You may requested to begin responding to basic incidents based on own knowledge and experience
9. Completes basic work requests and circuit installations
10. Participates in ongoing infrastructure projects
11. Carry out small works projects i.e. lighting upgrades etc
Qualifications
12. ONC/BTEC/NVQ or equivalent qualification in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
13. Previous critical environment experience
14. Good knowledge of critical infrastructure i.e. UPS, generator, BMS, chillers, life safety systems
Desired
15. Full qualified apprenticeship
16. HV Switching experience
17. Clean UK Driving licence
