Job Description
The Stores and Facilities Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Stores day-to-day operations and facility maintenance. This role ensures proper storage, and distribution of customer orders, sample kits and orange boxes, while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning facility. The Supervisor will also support health and safety compliance, coordinate maintenance tasks, and supervise staff to ensure smooth operational efficiency.
* Oversee and manage all aspects within Stores, ensuring there is sufficient team members/ cover in the department.
* Manage the workload and staff to ensure all orders are delivered to the customers within the expected timescales.
* Ensure relevant records are maintained (e.g. kit volumes, kit tracker, manifests), review and report distributions of Orange Boxes.
* Track Orange Boxes in and out of Stores and chase unreturned boxes.
* Maintain up-to-date records of inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
* Ensure transport costs are entered correctly onto LIMS at kit receipt and any discrepancies are reported to the Laboratory Operations Manager.
* Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimise waste, loss, or damage.
* Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure compliance with company policies.
* Assist in preparing stock reports and analysing usage trends to optimise inventory levels.
* Coordinate with suppliers for deliveries and manage stock discrepancies.
* Oversee routine maintenance of the facility, ensuring equipment and infrastructure are in good condition.
* Manage and mentor staff, support their training, development and engagement, through regular 121’s.
* Supervise cleaning, security, and other facility-related services to maintain high operational standards.
* Coordinate minor repairs, servicing, and upgrades to the premises as needed.
* Ensure proper space utilisation and organisation within storage areas and workspaces.
* Assist in managing contracts with facility service providers and contractors.
* Provide cover in Stores when required.
