Salary: £26,488 Per Annum (Actual Salary is £13,244 for 17.5 hrs worked)

Could you provide advice, support, and advocacy to people in crisis as a result of their immigration status?
We are looking for a Casework Coordinator to join our Northern Ireland Refugee Support team as part of the RIGHT SUPPORT: RIGHT TIME (RS:RT) project, which is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
Right Support: Right Time aims to promote positive mental wellbeing, increase resilience, and prevent the deterioration of existing mental and emotional distress in people, families, and communities. This project will focus on supporting refugees, including those seeking international protection & vulnerable migrants to access appropriate mental health support and provide casework support and advocacy.
What does a day in the life of a Casework Coordinator look like?
Reporting to the Refugee Support Service Manager, you will ensure the provision of high-quality, person-centred advice and advocacy support for people in a range of complex and crisis-related situations in the Northern Ireland area.
You’ll primarily be responsible for the coordination and delivery of casework services for beneficiaries of the RS:RT project including group work and advocacy. The casework coordinator will contribute to the overall aims of the programme and collaborate closely with partners.
You’ll take a holistic approach to supporting these beneficiaries, providing clients with short-term casework support. This could involve directing clients for help with their asylum cases or basic essentials, access to services, including mental health support, or building strong working relationships with local agencies and charities operating in the local area where individuals can be referred for further assistance (e.g., access to accommodation).
This is a rewarding role, requiring excellent advocacy and communication skills, the ability to work sensitively, and remain calm under pressure.
To be a successful Casework Coordinator you will have:
* Experience delivering casework with vulnerable clients (ideally within the asylum support system) and the ability to effectively advocate on behalf of clients to realize their rights and entitlements.
* An understanding of issues relating to refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable migrants.
* The ability to support, manage, and develop volunteers.
* Experience of working as part of a team within what can sometimes be a high-pressure environment. You will have experience of cross-agency partnership and collaborative working too.
* Great communication skills with the ability to adapt based on the audience.
* Experience providing sensitive, safe, and empowering support to distressed people in vulnerable situations.
We particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of forced migration and speakers of Arabic, Somali, Farsi, and Tigrinya.
This role is based in Botanic House, Belfast, and will be hybrid working. The successful applicant will deliver the project across NI and as such access to transport is necessary for regional travel to deliver the project.
