Job overview
To lead a team of Patient Navigators or Clinical Pathway Administrators and be responsible for the smooth running of the patient journey from referral to discharge from Trust care.
Main duties of the job
The Trauma and Orthopaedic service is looking for a dynamic and resilient clinical pathway manager to join our team.

* Build collaborative working relationships with clinicians
A primary focus will be RTT managing an allocated workload as well as managing the administrative team. The successful candidate will be based at our Hampstead site with occasional travel.
The successful candidate will be expected to act with autonomy for the day to day management and supervision of the administration staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
MANAGEMENT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Supervise the day to day work of the administrative team.
* Ensure adherence to Trust policies and standard operating procedures.
* Manage sickness/absence and recording of annual leave.
* Maintain ESR information in conjunction with HR and payroll.
* Ensure equitable allocation of workload across all teams.
* Manage the recruitment process for new staff.
* Coordinate and engage in the induction of new team members.
* Monitor individual and team performance regularly.
* Conduct investigations regarding performance and conduct issues.
* Ensure compliance with mandatory and statutory training.
* Manage bank/agency staff in a cost effective way.
* Provide support and guidance to team members.
* Order and maintain agreed levels of stationery/non-stock items.
* Report and coordinate maintenance work needed within the department.
* Process confidential patient-sensitive documentation.
* Set expectations regarding levels of customer service.
* Deal with concerns/complaints as appropriate.

PATIENT PATHWAY PLANNING
* Understand standard operating procedures for navigator functions.
* Ensure effective communication with patients regarding their appointments.
* Ensure patient records are updated in a timely manner.
MONITORING AND REPORTING
* Monitor performance of the team in relation to key performance indicators.
* Produce reports as requested by the management team.
* Ensure patient feedback is captured and cascaded to relevant staff groups.
